Grey is a very neutral and balanced color, one that could be considered emotionless or moody, but is also timeless and practical; one of a group of sophisticated, conservative, formal colors that can even communicate some of the strength of black without the negativity. Grey awareness ribbons indicate support for allergies, brain cancer and tumors, and mental illness, to name a few.
Food allergies are one of the most widespread forms of allergies, and occur when your body recognizes food as an invader and decides to fight back by having some sort of reaction. While some reactions are relatively mild, others like anaphylaxis are dangerous and can even be life threatening. One in thirteen children now has some form of food allergy, and peanuts are a popular and dangerous allergen – something that has always been a staple of school snacks and served in many restaurants. The speed that reactions occur makes this an incredibly scary situation, meaning the need for widespread awareness is important.
The National Brain Tumor Society is very active in helping others understand how brain tumors affect the nearly 700,000 individuals in the US who are currently living with this condition. Community events are the backbone of fundraising, and can be supported with awareness jewelry such as bracelets, key chains and necklaces.
Grey ribbons are used to raise awareness of the following:
Say “Thank you” to volunteers who spend hours working with awareness campaigns with an engraved bracelet, necklace or key chain – or simply let a loved one know how much you support them with a heartfelt note that can be engraved on the reverse of each product. Key chains in particular make great ways to raise awareness on a daily basis.
