On the other hand, people suffering from diabetes often become quite depressed. Not being able to do what you want or physical limitations, sometimes make people victim of clinical and chronic depression. In November, you can show to these people that there’s hope and that you care by taking part of this national crusade. No matter how isolated you feel, help may be closer than you think. With just a little encouragement, friends and family could become more supportive than you ever imagined.

The members of your healthcare team have years of experience dealing with diabetes and those affected by it. Don’t hesitate to take advantage of their knowledge by asking questions, educating yourself, and engaging your doctor, diabetes educator, or specialists on your team in conversations about your illness. Let your doctor know that you want to be a full partner in managing this disease. Remember, his or her ultimate goal is to help you be healthy.

Whether you have diabetes or not, it’s very important to support this cause and help to spread awareness. There are many ways you can team up for this campaign, from volunteering, donations, events or simply by wearing red ribbon pins or diabetic bracelet during the month of November, it’s up to you how you want to take action!
